Hey, everyone this is my first post on this blog thingy.
First the reason I'm doing this.
1. Its something i haven't tried yet.
2. It will help me with my writing ability.
3. It gives me an outlet to voice my thoughts.
Lets, start with something not very controversial.
School dress codes, the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Dress codes of schools have been an ever changing source of conflict between students and teachers. Let's face it we want to look a certain way, while the teachers prefer us to look more like they want us to look like.
First, let me start at the reasons I feel some dress code rule should be there.
Jeans with no holes above the knees or at least mid thigh. Come on people why do you need pants that have holes to show off your thighs, ass, or junk. Your at school to learn not pick up a guy/girl.
Skirts knee length. Same as the reason above.
Clothes that actually fit. Seriously some people should not be allowed to wear tight clothes, that is all.
Clothes without offensive material. Yes, we have the right of expression and free speech, but asking to get hit shouldn't be something your looking to achieve.
Next we got the rules that shouldn't really exist.
Rule against piercings. Its our body we can mutilate it and parade around with all the shiny objects sticking out of us as we like.
Rules against tattoos. Like above only with ink instead of shiny things.
Rules against hats. not everyone likes to style there hair every morning.
Uniforms. This ones a tricky one to say is weather or not its a good or bad thing.
My personal thoughts about this is yes, it helps poor student out, but creative students or students that want to be more expressive should be able to modify it for them selves.
